Trinity's 2nd gift

I found out that I could make paper dolls on my embroidery machine right before her birthday. I thought that a 3 year old would enjoy playing with some so here they are, the doll and 3 outfits! Thanks Eileen for such great designs! I will have to stitch out some more outfits for her. I really like doing these, but they do take a bit of time with having to basically create fabric from the thread.
This is the 2nd doll. The first one had some flaws so I had to stitch another. Right after I made the doll Chamie and Mardie got a hold of it. I had a hard time getting it back. I guess I'll have to stitch some of their favorite characters into these figures for them, they won't have outfits to change into or anything but I can make a flannel board book for them to move them around on.
Ahhh, yet some more project for my list. 

Rocky's been busy in my sewing room!

My wonderful dh Rocky is so handy, it's great! He put up my cone rack and two thread racks and cutter basket/holder. I love looking out over my work area and seeing a sea of thread.

Here's the 2nd bag in my placemat series. Same construction pretty much as the first one. I used jute braid for the handles instead of ribbon.

Circle Bag

Here's the first in my series of repurposed placemat bags. I saw this one and it was begging me to bring it home and turn it into a bag. I had to oblige. It's a 100% cotton Waverly placemat. It is very retro looking to me, but the colors bring something very fresh.

The card you see attached to it is my new hangtag. I have to figure out if this is how I want to attach things. I'm still working through the whole display thing. 

Contrasting lining fabric. What a cool blend of spring colors to contrast with the rich Chocolate brown! 

Charmie's 3rd Birthday Party!

Here's the Birthday boy. Rocky and I chose for several reasons to have the party away from our home this year. We are so glad that we picked McDonalds. It was really fun for all, including us and most importantly Charmie and his guests had a blast. After the party we went to see Over the Hedge wich kids and parents alike enjoyed.

McDonalds gave Charmie a cup as their "gift". We opened this first and had a hard time getting it away so that he could open the rest of the gifts. He LOVES this cup! 

Grandpa and Grandma Manuel gave Charmie his toy gift earlier at their home on his birthday, but for his party they gave him this cute baseball jersey and some swimming trunks. He needs both so I'm sure he'll be running around all over wearing them! Notice the red cup in his hand! 

Our neighbors Rob, Leanne and JAC gave Charmie a diecast Lightenin' McQueen. He loves this little car!
